Queersensible everyday help
Why at all?
Sexual orientation and gender identity are part of a person's personality. They influence not only one's self-perception, but also relationships, trust in professionals, one's sense of life – and, very concretely, how one deals with help, illness, or care.
However, in classic everyday help and care structures, these aspects are often not considered – due to uncertainty, ignorance, or structural blindness. The result: Queer people experience discrimination, exclusion, or the feeling of having to adapt. Some conceal their identity, others do not even use services – for fear of being hurt again.
This is exactly where queer-sensitive everyday help comes in: It creates a safe space where people are accepted as they are – with their biography, their identity, their life reality. Not as a special case, but as part of a diverse society.
Live diversity – master everyday life
Queer-sensitive everyday help means dealing with realities of life that do not correspond to the supposed “norm” – and therein lies the strength. It creates space for trust, reduces barriers and protects against renewed exclusion. It is not about special rights, but about equal participation – with respect, attention and openness.
Statements we still hear:
- „We don't have that problem here – we don't have such people.“
- „Lesbians, gays? That's normal today – do they really need special treatment?“
- „Diversity? We treat everyone equally anyway.“
Such statements may sound harmless – but they show how queer realities of life are ignored, trivialized, or deliberately hidden.
Those who treat everyone equally often overlook different needs.
From the community – for the community
AlleFarben Alltagshilfe emerged from the free and voluntary platform QueerPflege.de. There, in 2021, I began researching and making visible queer-sensitive care and counseling services throughout Germany.
In many conversations, however, it became clear: It's not just information that's needed – but concrete help in everyday life. People who understand what it means to be queer and to need support.
That's exactly why I founded AlleFarben: As an everyday helper that not only recognizes queer realities of life, but actively takes them into account – sensitively, respectfully and safely.
What is QueerPflege.de?
QueerPflege is a volunteer-run platform for queer-sensitive care and counseling services in Germany. It helps people find facilities and professionals who respect and understand LSBTIQ* realities of life.

My Personal Why
I am Andreas Schütz – care consultant, founder of QueerCare and part of the queer community. For many years I have been accompanying people who are looking for queer-sensitive help in old age or when in need of support – and all too often fail. Not because they lack strength, but because the system does not take them into account. I have had many conversations, heard many stories – of invisibility, shame, withdrawal, but also of courage, strength and self-assertion.
With QueerPflege.de I have created a digital place to make queer-sensitive offers visible.
With AlleFarben I have turned this into a real place: an everyday aid that respects queer realities of life – not just tolerates them. I wish that no one would ever have to consider whether they have to pretend when receiving help in everyday life – or better yet, remain silent.
I want help to mean security. That trust can grow. And that people no longer have to explain themselves in order to be accompanied with dignity.
